Nigerian Woman Uzoma Promoted to Captain in US Army

Uzoma, a Nigerian woman, has achieved the rank of captain in the US Army, announcing her promotion in a post on X on Sunday. She expressed her gratitude to God for the journey that led to this milestone, stating, “Today, I proudly wear the rank of CAPTAIN.” This promotion follows her earlier advancement to the rank of sergeant in March 2026, which she celebrated with a similar expression of gratitude.

The announcement of her captaincy comes shortly after Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu revealed his enlistment in the US Army, describing it as a personal ambition and a tribute to his late father, who served in the Nigeria Police Force. Momodu shared his experience of military training, highlighting the physical and emotional challenges he faced, including intensive training and periods of isolation.
