Francis Uzoho, the Nigerian international goalkeeper, played a pivotal role in Omonia Nicosia's triumph in the 2025-26 Cypriot First Division, securing the title with a commanding 3-0 victory against Ari Limassol. This victory marked the end of Omonia's five-year wait for domestic glory, with their last league success occurring in 2021.

Uzoho, who joined Omonia in 2021, served as the club's second-choice goalkeeper during the campaign, making five league appearances and achieving three clean sheets while conceding only three goals. With this domestic success, Omonia Nicosia will represent Cyprus in the next season's UEFA Champions League, beginning in the second qualifying round.
