David Fizdale Appointed New Coach of Nigeria's D'Tigers

David Fizdale has been announced as the new head coach of Nigeria's men's basketball team, D'Tigers, by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) over the weekend. In an exclusive interview with M4STV, Fizdale expressed his excitement for the role and his readiness to tackle the challenges ahead.

He emphasized his familiarity with Nigerian players and the basketball system, which he believes will aid in his coaching efforts. Fizdale, a former NBA head coach with a record of 71-134 with the Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks, has also served as an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns.

He aims to prepare the D'Tigers for their upcoming competition against Angola in July and aspires to lead the team to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Fizdale's predecessor, Mike Brown, coached the team during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, providing a strong foundation for the new coach to build upon.
