Nigeria’s para-powerlifters set sights on gold in Chile

Nigeria's para-powerlifters are gearing up to compete in a tournament in Chile from November 11 to 18, with 10 athletes representing the country across different weight categories. The team is led by world record holder Oluwafemiayo Folashade, who expressed optimism about their chances of bringing home gold medals.

The roster includes athletes like Ajiboye Rukayat, Ani Chiamaka, and Ezuruike Roland. The competition will feature athlete classification on November 13, with the main championship events taking place from November 15 to 17.

The team is set to depart for Santiago, Chile on November 18. Folashade thanked the Sports Commission, Paralympic Committee Nigeria, and the Para Powerlifting Federation for their support in preparing for the tournament, expressing confidence in their ability to make Nigeria proud.
