NIMC Launches Free NIN Slip Download via Mobile App

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced a new initiative allowing Nigerians to download their National Identification Number (NIN) slips for free without visiting enrolment centres or paying agents. This announcement was made via a video on NIMC's official X account on November 4, 2026.

The process is available to individuals who already possess an 11-digit NIN and can be completed through the NINAuth mobile application. Users can verify their NIN and select "Download NIN Slip" to generate and save the document directly to their smartphones.

This service, which was introduced in June 2026, aims to facilitate access to essential identity documents for banking, telecommunications, and government services while reducing reliance on intermediaries. The NINAuth platform, launched in October 2025, enhances identity verification and provides users with greater control over their personal information.

NIMC advises Nigerians to utilize official channels for identity services and to avoid sharing sensitive information with unauthorized agents.
