NiMet Forecasts Thunderstorms and Dust Haze Across Nigeria

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and dust haze across Nigeria from Friday to Sunday. The weather outlook, released on Thursday in Abuja, indicates slight dust haze over most northern areas, with moderate haze in Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, and Kaduna States.

Isolated thunderstorms with light rains are expected in Taraba State on Friday afternoon or evening. The North-Central region will experience sunny skies with patches of clouds, while isolated thunderstorms and light rains are anticipated in Kogi, Kwara, the Federal Capital Territory, and Benue States later in the day.

The southern region is forecasted to have cloudy skies with possible light rains in Delta and Bayelsa States on Friday morning, followed by thunderstorms and moderate rains in Ondo, Ogun, Osun, and Ekiti States. NiMet advises the public to take precautions against dust particles, particularly those with asthma, and to secure loose objects during thunderstorms.

Residents are also urged to stay informed through NiMet's website.
