Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon Kill Nine, Escalate Conflict

Israeli air strikes on a village in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals, as reported by Lebanon’s health ministry. The first strike destroyed a three-storey residential building in Kfar Remman, killing eight people, including a child and a woman.

A second strike targeted a vehicle carrying paramedics from the Risala Scout Association, resulting in the death of one paramedic and injuries to two others. The health ministry reported that 11 people were injured in the first strike, including four children and two women.

The Israeli military is investigating the reported casualties, while Israel’s foreign ministry accused Hezbollah of conducting drone attacks and attempting to rebuild military capabilities in southern Lebanon. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed concerns that the escalation jeopardizes a US-brokered ceasefire established in June, which calls for Hezbollah's disarmament and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.

The ongoing conflict has resulted in at least 4,354 deaths in Lebanon since March 2.
