Israel Destroys Hezbollah Tunnel, Triggers 4.1-Magnitude Quake

On September 11, Israel executed a controlled demolition of a major Hezbollah tunnel network located beneath the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon, resulting in a recorded 4.1-magnitude tremor. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that this operation completed Israel’s operational control over the ridge, both above and below ground.

They described the tunnel network as strategic terrorist infrastructure developed over two decades with Iranian support. The Israeli military reported that its forces had spent weeks clearing the area of Hezbollah operatives before the demolition.

The explosions were significant enough to be heard across the region, with Lebanon’s National News Agency reporting a "massive explosion." The military indicated that the underground network extended over two kilometers and contained an arsenal of weapons, including Iranian-made rockets, missiles, and anti-tank missiles, as well as a command center for Hezbollah’s Badr unit.
