Bandits Kill Three in Niger State Village Attack

On Saturday morning, a deadly attack by suspected bandits occurred in Pissa Village, Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, resulting in the deaths of three residents and the burning of several houses. The incident took place around 9:00 AM, prompting a military response as troops engaged the attackers.

However, the details of the encounter remain unclear, according to Niger State Police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun. Following the attack, there were reports of panic in the state capital, Minna, leading to the hurried end of school sessions as parents feared a potential invasion by bandits.

Parents contacted school principals to confirm the safety of their children, and police assured them that they were working around the clock to address the situation. Abiodun stated that no attacks had occurred in schools within the state at that time.
