NIS Announces UK Passport Intervention Dates for 2026

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) announced a passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the United Kingdom, scheduled from September 7 to 26, 2026. This initiative follows a directive from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to deploy a Passport Intervention Team from the NIS Headquarters in Abuja.

The exercise will occur in four locations: London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, and Aberdeen and Cardiff from September 21 to 26. Specific venues include Layali Lounge in London, Nigerian House in Manchester, Hilton Convention Centre in Aberdeen, and Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Eligible Nigerians can obtain new passports, renew existing ones, or resolve pending applications. Applicants must apply and pay through the NIS passport application portal prior to attending.

The NIS also highlighted that its digital passport application channels remain operational, and home delivery is available. This intervention aims to enhance accessibility to passport services for Nigerians living abroad.
