Niyi Agoro, the Cluster Director of Human Resources at Lagos Continent Hotel, emphasized the transition from a traditional personnel management approach to a holistic, people-centric operating model. This strategic shift aims to enhance employee experience and engagement, reaffirming the commitment to create an enabling environment where employees can thrive.

The initiative includes a decentralized recognition framework that empowers line managers to acknowledge contributions at the team level, ensuring meritocratic recognition across hotel tiers. Monthly town hall meetings will further reinforce a culture of recognition and engagement.

The organization has also launched an employee opinion survey to facilitate structured feedback and ensure employee voices are integrated into decision-making. Additional welfare measures include the acquisition of two new Toyota Coaster buses, increasing the fleet to eleven, and the construction of an 80-bed staff layover facility.

The introduction of a night shift staff clinic aims to address health and safety needs for employees working non-day shifts, ensuring a comprehensive approach to employee welfare.
