NLC Demands Investigation into Presidential Investment Commission

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has demanded a comprehensive investigation into the controversy involving the Presidential Foreign Investment Commission (PFIC). NLC President Joe Ajaero stated that Nigerians deserve a clear explanation regarding the legitimacy of the commission, which has raised fundamental questions about the integrity of government institutions.

Ajaero warned that regardless of whether the commission is confirmed to be genuine or fictitious, the controversy has already undermined public trust. He emphasized that the president's response will significantly influence public confidence in the matter.

Ajaero also noted that the investigation should be conducted by the country's anti-corruption agencies to ascertain the facts and hold anyone found culpable accountable. He expressed concerns about the existence of a non-legal body allegedly operating within official government circles and questioned the authenticity of claims made regarding the commission's operations and its relationship with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
