NDC Demands Gbajabiamila's Removal Over Corruption Claims

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has demanded the immediate removal of Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, due to allegations of corruption involving the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). A statement dated July 3, 2026, signed by Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi, claims that the PFIPC, which the government publicly denies exists, has been involved in siphoning public funds.

Allegations include the opening of multiple accounts at the Central Bank of Nigeria to receive budgetary allocations for 2026, despite the agency's claimed non-existence. The NDC expressed concerns over the approval of 314 staff positions for this alleged agency and questioned how such actions could occur without the President's knowledge.

Additionally, the NDC highlighted serious allegations regarding fraudulent financial activities linked to Gbajabiamila, including a reported payment of 600 million naira to proxies. The party's statement also referenced threats to the life of Babatund Tanimola, an intermediary in the allegations, further complicating the situation.
