NNL Praises Governor Uzodimma for Hosting AGM in Owerri

The Nigeria National League (NNL) expressed gratitude to Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for agreeing to host the league's 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Owerri on August 21, 2026. The event is scheduled for August 20, when the 34 NNL clubs, board members, and key stakeholders will arrive in the state capital, with departures planned two days later.

NNL Chief Operating Officer (COO) Danlami Alanana stated that the governor's support exemplifies Imo State's commitment to the growth of football in Nigeria. He emphasized that the AGM will serve as a crucial platform for league leadership and club representatives to review the just-concluded season, address operational issues, and discuss strategies to strengthen the NNL ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign.

Alanana expressed confidence that Imo State would provide a conducive environment for a successful meeting and commended the state government for its hospitality and commitment to sports development. He urged all participating clubs and stakeholders to attend, highlighting the significance of the decisions to be made at the AGM.
