NNL to Hold 17th AGM in Owerri on August 21, 2026

The Nigeria National League (NNL) is set to convene its 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Owerri, Imo State, on Friday, August 21, 2026. All 36 participating clubs are expected to arrive on Thursday, August 20, and depart on Saturday, August 22.

NNL Chief Operating Officer, Danlami Alanana, confirmed that the hosting of the meeting has been approved by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma. Alanana expressed gratitude for Uzodimma's support, stating that the AGM is a significant event in the NNL calendar.

Key issues on the agenda include the roadmap for the upcoming 2026/27 season, club licensing regulations, and potential amendments to the league's rules. High-ranking officials from the Nigeria Football Federation, including President Ibrahim Gusau and General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, are also expected to attend.

The specific venue for the meeting has yet to be announced, with details to be communicated to the participating clubs by the NNL Secretariat. The previous AGM was hosted by the Kaduna State Government.
