NNL to Host 2026 AGM in Owerri, Imo State

The Nigeria National League (NNL) has confirmed that Owerri, the capital of Imo State, will host the 2026/2027 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 21, 2026. Mr. Danlami Alanana, the NNL Chief Operating Officer, announced that the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the request to hold the AGM in the Eastern Heartland.

The AGM is a significant event in the NNL calendar and will see attendance from top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), including President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau and General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi. The thirty-six NNL clubs are expected to arrive in Owerri on August 20 and depart on August 22, 2026.

The specific venue for the AGM will be communicated to the clubs later. Key topics for discussion will include the roadmap for the 2026/2027 season, club licensing regulations, and potential amendments to NNL rules and regulations.

Alanana expressed gratitude to Governor Uzodimma for his support of sports in the state.
