FG Confirms No Plans to Abolish NBAIS Amid Rumors

The Federal Ministry of Education, represented by Mr. Folasade Boriowo, issued a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, clarifying that there are no intentions to abolish the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS).

This clarification comes in response to misleading reports circulating on social media, which the ministry described as false and unfounded. Mr.

Boriowo emphasized that the ministry neither initiated a bill in the National Assembly to abolish NBAIS nor endorsed any policy aimed at undermining its statutory mandate. He expressed concern that such misinformation could create unnecessary anxiety among students, parents, and educational stakeholders.

The ministry reaffirmed that NBAIS remains a duly recognized examination and certification body operating within Nigeria's educational framework and that the federal government will continue to support legally established educational institutions and examination bodies in accordance with existing laws and national educational policy principles.
