Northern Senators Forum Condemns Attacks in Benue, Kaduna

The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) condemned the attacks in Benue and Kaduna States that led to the deaths of many citizens and the displacement of families. A press release from Sen.

Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, Chairman of the Forum, detailed an attack on July 28, 2026, in Efeyi Community, Ugboju, Otukpo LGA, which left 13 dead, and another on July 26, 2026, in Naridon Village, Kamaru Ward, Kauru LGA, claiming about 30 lives. The Forum expressed sympathy for the affected families and welcomed President Bola Tinubu's approval to expand the Nigerian Army from eight to 12 divisions and recruit 28,000 additional personnel.

This initiative aims to enhance national security by decentralizing command and improving response to threats. The Senators stressed the importance of adequate equipment and logistics for the new formations and called for community cooperation with security agencies, urging the government to swiftly apprehend perpetrators and support victims.
