Sowore Granted N200 Million Bail, Vows to Continue Revolution

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress and a prominent human rights activist, was granted bail in the amount of N200 million by the Federal High Court in Abuja. This decision was made by Justice Moham Umar, who imposed stringent conditions for the bail, including the requirement for two sureties, one of whom must be a traditional ruler and a property owner in Abuja.

Sowore's passport was ordered to be deposited with the court, and he is to remain in custody until the conditions are met. He had been arrested on June 22, 2023, following his arraignment, where he was accused of making statements that allegedly referred to President Bola Tinubu in a criminal context.

After his release, Sowore stated, "Nothing on earth will stop this revolution," indicating his determination to continue his activism against the current government.
