NPA and ANLCA Join Forces to Alleviate Port Congestion

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) have collaborated to tackle persistent congestion on the access roads to Apapa and Tincan ports. This agreement was reached during a strategic engagement at the NPA corporate headquarters in Marina, Lagos, led by NPA Managing Director Dr.

Abubakar Dantsoho and ANLCA President Chief Emenik Nwokeoji. Dr.

Dantsoho commended the port management's efficiency, noting that recent rankings by the World Bank placed Nigerian ports among the top 20 improved ports globally. This recognition reflects ongoing reforms aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The discussions centered on the implementation of the Electronic Call System (Eto) to regulate truck movement, which is crucial for increasing trade volume and curbing gridlock. ANLCA pledged to work closely with the NPA and relevant stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, to monitor truck movements and ensure efficient port access.
