NPA Director Olalekan Badmus Condemns Osun Violence

Olalekan Badmus, the Executive Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, expressed grave concern over the escalating wave of politically motivated violence in Osun State. In a statement made on Saturday, he warned that this trend poses a serious threat to democracy and peaceful coexistence.

Badmus condemned all forms of violence, stating that no political ambition or partisan interest justifies the loss of lives or the harassment of innocent citizens. He described the rise in political attacks as dangerous and an assault on democratic values, emphasizing that Osun State is known for its peaceful culture.

Badmus called on security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force and relevant authorities, to act swiftly and impartially in investigating incidents and bringing perpetrators to justice. He urged citizens, particularly the youth, not to allow themselves to be used as instruments of violence by politicians pursuing selfish interests, and to choose peace and dignity over conflict.
