NPFL Announces 2026/27 Season Calendar and Dates

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has officially unveiled its calendar for the 2026/27 football season, confirming that the new campaign will commence between August 28 and 30, 2026. The league aims to ensure proper planning and organization, allowing clubs sufficient time to meet licensing and operational requirements.

The season is scheduled to conclude on May 30, 2027. Key dates include a mid-season break from December 23 to January 6, 2027, and the opening of the first transfer window from July 15 to September 14, 2026.

The league will also host its annual general meeting (AGM) to review the previous season and discuss proposed amendments to league regulations. The NPFL plans to conduct a Super 4 tournament as part of its pre-season activities and will assess club readiness and compliance with safety standards before the season begins.

The long-term strategy includes a consistent organizational framework for domestic football competitions.
