Lagos State Donates Patrol Vehicles to NRC for Security

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), donated two patrol vehicles to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Friday at the Mobolaji Johnson Train Station in Yaba, Lagos. The vehicles will support the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in conducting patrols and responding to security incidents along railway corridors.

Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NRC, stated that the donation would enhance the mobility of security personnel and deter criminal activities. He assured that the NRC would provide fuelling and maintenance for the vehicles and expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Government for the intervention.

Additionally, Opeifa donated N500,000 to the LSSTF to support its activities. Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, emphasized the importance of railway security as more residents rely on rail transportation, highlighting the fund's commitment to enhancing security across various transportation sectors.
