Okereke Promises 25,000MW Power in First 100 Days

Esther Okereke, the presidential candidate of the National Rescue Movement, announced her commitment to raise Nigeria’s electricity generation to 25,000MW within her first 100 days in office if elected in 2027. During an appearance on Arise TV, she stated that addressing the power crisis would be her top priority, asserting that reliable electricity is crucial for tackling other issues, including insecurity.

Okereke emphasized that Nigeria possesses the necessary professionals to improve the power sector but requires the right mandate and support. She identified corruption as a significant barrier to progress and expressed her determination to combat it.

Okereke also plans to pursue renewable energy and decentralized power generation. She defended her qualifications for the presidency by highlighting her humanitarian work and experience in managing businesses, asserting that her grassroots involvement has equipped her with an understanding of the challenges facing Nigerians.

Okereke's motivation for entering politics stems from her desire to address the frustrations of vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
