NSC Praises Tinubu for Armed Forces Salary Increase

On Thursday, Professor Oludayo Tade, President of the Nigeria Society for Criminology (NSC), commended President Bola Tinubu for approving an upward review of salaries for personnel in the Nigerian Armed Forces. Tade described this decision as a morale booster in the ongoing fight against insecurity in Nigeria.

He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces in ensuring national safety, stating that the salary increase, although delayed, was necessary. Tade emphasized the need for comprehensive support for security agencies, including better training, equipment, and welfare for the families of fallen heroes.

He urged President Tinubu to expedite salary reviews for other security agencies, such as the police and paramilitary forces, to foster collaboration and reduce interagency rivalry. Tade pointed out that a holistic approach to salary adjustments is crucial in addressing the multifaceted threats of banditry, terrorism, and kidnapping facing the nation.
