NSCDC Arrests Two Suspected Pipeline Vandals in Edo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested two suspected pipeline vandals, Kadiri Isah, aged 55, and Mustapha Naphiyu, aged 27, in Edo State. The arrests occurred at a cattle market in Idumabor, Ekpoma, within the Esan West Local Government Area, following intelligence reports linking the suspects to the vandalism of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) oil pipelines, which are critical national assets.

The operation was part of a joint effort involving the NSCDC and the senior special assistant to the Edo State governor on pipeline surveillance and security. According to a statement from NSCDC Edo State Command spokesman, CSC Efosa Ogbebor, preliminary investigations provided information regarding the suspects' alleged involvement in pipeline vandalism.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional members of the suspected syndicate, and the arrested individuals will be prosecuted according to the law. The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting critical national assets and warned individuals involved in pipeline vandalism to desist from such activities.
