NSE Honors George Okoroma, Launches His Biography

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Omoku Branch, honored Engr. George Okoroma for his election as President of FIDIC Africa by launching his biography, ‘Edged in Excellence: Becoming a Leading Professional,’ during its 3rd Distinguished Annual Lecture at Astro Hall, Port Harcourt. Okoroma, who was the branch’s pioneer chairman from 2012 to 2015, has a career spanning over four decades in consulting engineering.

His biography, written by his son Chukwumela Okoroma, includes 43 chapters detailing his life from Omoku to his education in France and his professional achievements. The book features a foreword by Rivers State Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu and includes tributes and reflections on Okoroma’s Christian faith.

Dr. Emmanuel Dorgbaa reviewed the book, describing it as a multifaceted work. Okoroma, born on July 4, 1952, has also served as the 18th President of the Association for Consulting Engineering in Nigeria and emphasized the importance of succession planning in engineering firms during his speech at the event.
