NSITF and Rand Mutual Assurance Sign MoU for Cooperation

On June 25, 2026, the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and South Africa's Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Abuja. The agreement aims to establish a formal framework for technical cooperation and knowledge exchange across social insurance administration and occupational health safety.

The signing concluded a three-day bilateral engagement, with NSITF's management team led by Barrister Oluwaseun Faley and RMA's technical delegation headed by Mr. Bilal Adam.

The MoU outlines six areas of cooperation, including technical exchange, capacity building, and the development of frameworks for injury prevention and claims administration. Both organizations committed to creating a joint technical work group to ensure the MoU translates into actionable programs.

The agreement is non-binding and does not impose immediate financial commitments. NSITF, established under the Employee Compensation Act of 2010, aims to enhance Nigeria's employee compensation scheme, while RMA, founded in 1894, is one of the oldest social security institutions globally.
