NTF to Train Officials for National Taekwondo Championship

The Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF) has organized training for officials ahead of the inaugural Michael Opeyemi Bamidele National Taekwondo Championship, which will take place on September 18 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos. The training is scheduled for September 16, just two days before the championship, to ensure that the event adheres to global standards.

Tayo Popoola, President of the NTF, emphasized the importance of this training to align the competition with best practices worldwide. The tournament is sponsored by Opeyemi Bamidele, a Senator of the Federal Republic and former Commissioner for Sports and Information in Lagos State, who views sports as a means to promote unity and empower youth.

Participation is expected from all states of Nigeria, Abuja, and various clubs, including para-military bodies. Registration remains open as the NTF anticipates strong participation for this first edition of the championship.
