MTN Leads April 2023 with 1,051 Inward Ports

In April 2023, a total of 1,716 subscribers ported from their initial telecom service providers to other networks in Nigeria, seeking better service quality. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) reported that MTN led the inward porting with 1,051 subscribers, followed by Airtel with 479 and Globacom with 148.

Smaller operators T2 and VITEL each recorded 19 inward ports. In terms of outward porting, MTN had 209 subscribers leave its network, while Airtel lost 322 and Globacom lost 331.

T2 recorded the highest outward porting at 854. MTN has maintained its lead in inward porting for six consecutive months, while T2 has led in outward porting during the same period.

The statistics reflect ongoing trends in the telecommunications sector as subscribers continue to seek improved service quality.
