Shettima Hosts ALGON Leaders to Boost Nutrition Initiative

On a recent Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima welcomed the National Leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), including Engr. Toni Adikib and Engr.

Bello Lawal, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting focused on strengthening the Nutrition 774 Initiative, which aims to tackle malnutrition and promote healthy living at the grassroots level.

Engr. Adikib commended the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, for ongoing economic transformation efforts.

He emphasized the importance of aligning local governments with the initiative to ensure effective outreach to households across Nigeria. The ALGON leadership expressed their commitment to mobilizing council chairmen, traditional rulers, and community groups to implement the initiative effectively.

They also discussed the need for collaboration with state governments, citing Imo State's Governor Hope Uzodimma's support for similar health campaigns to ensure food security and healthy living for citizens.
