NYC Shooting: Gunman Targeted NFL But Went to Wrong Office, Mayor Reveals

A gunman targeted the NFL headquarters in a Manhattan skyscraper shooting, killing four people, including an NYPD officer. However, the shooter, Shane Tamura from Las Vegas, entered the wrong office.

Mayor Eric Adams revealed that Tamura carried a note blaming chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disease linked to repeated head trauma, for his actions. The attack, one of NYC's deadliest workplace shootings in recent years, left two male civilians seriously injured.

Tamura used a rifle to shoot in the lobby, then continued firing on the 33rd floor, killing four people. The incident triggered a massive NYPD response, shutting down part of Midtown Manhattan.

The NFL, facing scrutiny over player brain injuries, has not commented on the tragedy. The motive behind the attack has left families grieving and workers questioning safety measures.
