NYSC Commends Rescue of Abducted Corps Members in Kogi

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) commended security agencies and stakeholders for the successful rescue of 16 Corps Members who were abducted in Kogi State on August 26, 2026, while traveling from the Bayelsa State Orientation Camp to Abuja. In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, NYSC's Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, expressed gratitude to those involved in the search and rescue operation.

The NYSC specifically acknowledged the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Kogi State vigilante groups, and other contributors. Embu praised the professionalism, courage, commitment, and coordination displayed by the security agencies.

The NYSC also recognized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's support and commitment to the safety of Corps members. The organization thanked the families of the abducted Corps Members for their patience and the media for its responsible coverage of the incident.

All rescued Corps Members are reported to be in high spirits and eager to resume their assignments.
