Nigeria Introduces Learner ID to Enhance Education Integrity
The Federal Government of Nigeria announced plans to introduce a National Learner Identification Number aimed at improving the integrity of education records and combating certificate racketeering. This initiative was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, during a meeting with Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The Nigerian Education Repository Data Bank is currently verifying university certificates, while the Nigerian Education Data Infrastructure will connect educational records.
