NYSC Commits to Federal Character Principle in Operations

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the Federal Character Principle in all operations. This assurance was given by the Director-General of NYSC, Brig-Gen Olakunle Nafiu, during a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon.

Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, at the FCC headquarters in Abuja on a Friday. A statement from the NYSC's Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, indicated that both the NYSC and FCC share complementary mandates aimed at promoting national unity, inclusiveness, and equal participation in nation-building.

Nafiu praised the FCC for its dedication to ensuring equity in recruitment and personnel distribution across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. He emphasized that the NYSC adheres to due process and government regulations, earning recognition for excellence in public service.

Nafiu pledged ongoing collaboration with the FCC to ensure compliance with guidelines related to the Federal Character Principle.
