NYSC Urges Data Integrity from Corps Producing Institutions

Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), issued a warning to corps producing institutions regarding the necessity of uploading credible data to uphold the scheme's integrity. This announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilisation Workshop in Abuja.

Nafiu emphasized that accountability extends beyond regulatory compliance, urging institutions to verify graduates' data before submission to the NYSC. He highlighted that inaccuracies and unauthorized alterations could negatively impact the mobilization process.

Additionally, 18 corps members from the 2025 Batch B in Sokoto State faced sanctions for various acts of indiscipline, with some required to repeat their service year. Nafiu identified challenges such as incorrect personal records and delays in processing as detrimental to the mobilization calendar.

He affirmed that the NYSC would leverage technology to enhance transparency and efficiency while stressing that technology cannot replace good governance.
