Obanikoro Calls for APC Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

Musiliu Obanikoro, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council in Lagos State, called for unity among party members as campaigns for the 2027 general elections commence. Speaking at an interfaith prayer organized by the party in Lagos, he urged members to move past divisions from the primary elections and support the APC’s candidates.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has set September 9, 2026, as the start date for the campaigns. Obanikoro emphasized the need for peaceful campaigning and respect among members, stating, “We competed with dignity.

Let us campaign with respect.” He highlighted the importance of approaching the campaign with a common purpose despite individual differences. The prayer session aimed to seek divine guidance for the electioneering period, with Obanikoro praying for wisdom and protection for the party’s leaders and candidates.

He encouraged loyalty and discipline among supporters, focusing on the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the election of Obafemi Hamzat, while urging members to maintain unity and avoid actions that could harm relationships within the party.
