Igbokwe Questions Atiku's Trustworthiness for Nigeria's Treasury

Joe Igbokwe, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), publicly criticized Atiku Abubakar, the leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that Nigeria's treasury cannot be entrusted to him. In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Igbokwe claimed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo had indicated that Atiku could not be trusted.

He stated, “We cannot trust him with the treasury of Nigeria,” referencing Obasanjo's sentiments. The relationship between Obasanjo and Atiku has been contentious, with Obasanjo accusing Atiku of attempting to impeach him during his presidency.

In response, Atiku labeled Obasanjo's accusations of bribery related to the late Rt. Hon.

Ghali Umar Na’Abba as reckless and fundamentally unfair, especially towards someone who cannot defend themselves. This exchange highlights the ongoing political rivalry and mistrust between the two prominent figures in Nigerian politics.
