Obi Clarifies 'Ready to Die' Comment as Symbolic Commitment

During an interview on Arise TV on Thursday, Obi stated that his comment was a response to a participant at a gathering in Port Harcourt who expressed willingness to die to defend their votes.

Obi emphasized that his intention was to show his commitment to ensuring that votes cast by Nigerians are protected and counted. He outlined plans for monitoring results from polling units, stating that his team would ensure votes are counted, recorded, and transmitted properly to their situation room.

Obi confirmed that his camp would implement an alternative system for recording results, aimed at ensuring transparency rather than creating a parallel election. He described the upcoming election as a contest between Nigerians and the government, rather than a political party battle.
