Obi Calls for Fair Trial for El-Rufai Amid Justice Concerns

Peter Obi, the flagbearer of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), demanded a fair and transparent trial for former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Obi warned against selective justice, stating that it undermines public confidence in Nigeria's democratic institutions.

He referenced a viral video featuring Hajiya Asiya El-Rufai, who expressed distress over her husband's treatment, highlighting the emotional impact on the nation. Obi stressed that democracy thrives when the rule of law is upheld and that every citizen is guaranteed equal protection under the law, regardless of allegations against them.
