Obi and Saraki Congratulate Adeleke on Re-election Victory

Peter Obi, the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State. Adeleke was declared the winner of the governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday, having polled 511,067 votes.

The State Returning Officer, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, announced the results at approximately 7:24 am. In his statement, Obi praised the Osun people for their courage in exercising their democratic rights and urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and active in future elections.

He emphasized that democracy thrives when citizens are engaged and their votes are respected. Saraki described Adeleke's re-election as a vote of confidence in his administration, commending the residents for their participation and vigilance.

He encouraged Adeleke to use his second term to build upon his achievements and fulfill the renewed mandate from the electorate.
