Odita Elected DECAN President, Promises Military-Media Unity

On June 12, 2026, Sundai Odita was elected as the president of the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) during a transparent electoral process. The new executive leadership includes Linu Alek as vice president, Musa Umar Bologi as secretary, Benjamin Samson as treasurer, Kikelomo Oker as financial secretary, Ihotu Odoh as welfare officer, Agbor Jame as provost, and Mathew Abi as public relations officer.

Odita emphasized that member welfare would be a top priority for his administration and stressed the importance of professional empowerment within the defense journalism sector.
