Kogi Governor Launches Youth Mining Jewelry Program

On Monday in Abuja, Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahm Usman Ododo inaugurated the Kogi Youth Mining Jewelry Craftsmanship Empowerment Program, designed to equip young people with competitive skills in the mining jewelry value chain. Governor Ododo called for youth support for President Bola Ahm Tinubu, highlighting the administration's commitment to empowering Nigerian youth through targeted interventions that promote entrepreneurship and reduce unemployment.

He noted that the program aims to transform beneficiaries into wealth creators rather than mere recipients of government support. The initiative attracted 16,900 applications across Nigeria, with 13,900 successfully processed, leading to the selection of 20 outstanding candidates for the inaugural batch.

Dr. Olushola M. Awujoola, Managing Director of Malivelihood, commended the Kogi State Government for its vision in developing youth capacity.

The program is expected to provide world-class training that meets international standards, preparing participants for successful careers in Nigeria's rapidly growing mining jewelry sector.
