Kogi Launches Youth Entrepreneurship Grant Programme

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo launched the Kogi Youth Entrepreneurship and Business Grant Programme in Lokoja, reaffirming his administration's commitment to youth empowerment. Represented by Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike, the initiative aims to enhance the productive capacity of young people.

Mrs Ayoade urged beneficiaries to use the grants responsibly, emphasizing that the support is intended to establish viable enterprises rather than serve as mere financial aid. She directed the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to implement monitoring mechanisms to track beneficiaries' progress.

Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Monday Aridojo Anyebe, described the programme as an investment in Kogi State's human and economic capital. He highlighted the importance of providing young Kogites with the right support to develop sustainable businesses and solve real-life problems.

The ultimate goal is to create entrepreneurs capable of generating jobs and contributing to the state's economic development.
