Ododo's Aide: Governance Takes Precedence Over 2027 Politics

Oladele John Nihi, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Student Matters, asserted that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is prioritizing governance and the fulfillment of campaign promises over speculation regarding the 2027 governorship elections. Nihi made these remarks on Tuesday in response to increasing political discussions about the upcoming election.

He noted that any qualified citizen has the constitutional right to contest for the governorship position but deemed discussions about the 2027 election as premature. Nihi emphasized that the Ododo administration is dedicated to enhancing governance and improving the lives of Kogi State residents.

He stated that the governor's immediate political focus is on ensuring the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in future elections. Nihi urged APC members and political stakeholders to remain united and avoid distractions that could detract from governance and the administration's development agenda, which includes prioritizing infrastructure, youth empowerment, security, agriculture, education, and healthcare.
