Chief Imam Returns N25m to Late Actor Ogogo's Family

Actor Saidi Balogun publicly celebrated the Chief Imam of Ilaro for his act of financial honesty following the death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo. During Ogogo's burial proceedings, the Chief Imam revealed that the late actor had entrusted him with N25 million intended for the renovation of a mosque and the family house.

With Ogogo deceased, the Imam decided to return the entire amount to the family, announcing the full refund publicly. Saidi Balogun contrasted the Imam's integrity with what he described as a broader moral failure in society.

He noted that this was not the first instance of the Imam's principled behavior; during his tenure as Amir Hajj, he returned all unspent funds to the Ogun State government after a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Balogun's tribute not only honored Ogogo's legacy but also brought attention to the Chief Imam's previously unrecognized acts of honesty.
