Osun Speaker Petitions IGP Over APC Candidate's Threat

Honourable Wale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, has formally petitioned the Inspector-General of Police regarding Francis Eniade, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo-Otin Federal Constituency. Egbedun's petition follows a viral video in which Eniade allegedly threatened non-APC members, specifically mentioning Egbedun's name.

In a statement made in Osogbo on Wednesday, Egbedun expressed serious concerns about the implications of such threats, which he believes could lead to voter intimidation and political violence ahead of the elections. He emphasized that no citizen should live in fear due to their political affiliations and that the right to vote freely is constitutionally guaranteed.

Egbedun has instructed his legal team to submit a formal petition to the police and other relevant authorities, urging immediate action against Eniade to ensure the matter is thoroughly investigated and not overlooked.
