Osun Assembly Speaker Calls for INEC Office Investigation

Adewale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, condemned the alleged invasion of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office located at Oyinlola DC School, Ward 2, Okuku, in Odo-Otin Local Government Area. In a statement issued on Sunday through Chief Press Secretary Olamide Tiamiyu, he described the incident, which involved the reported theft of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by hoodlums allegedly affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a serious attack on Nigeria’s democracy.

Egbedun called for an immediate, thorough, and impartial investigation by security agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible. He urged INEC to enhance measures for a peaceful and credible governorship election and encouraged eligible voters not to be intimidated.

Conversely, the Odo-Otin APC Progressive Youth made a contrary allegation, claiming that thugs loyal to the Accord and Egbedun invaded the INEC office to disrupt PVC collection, calling for a comprehensive investigation by the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Services.
