Ogun Ex-Lawmaker Urges FG to Institutionalize Food Bank

Kayode Oladele, a former member of the House of Representatives from Ogun State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, praised Senator Oluremi Tinubu for launching the Southwest Zonal National Community Food Bank Programme in Ogun State. The program was inaugurated in Abeokuta on Tuesday and includes food banks in Sagamu, Yewa North, and Abeokuta South.

Oladele described the initiative as a demonstration of compassion and leadership aimed at addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable Nigerians. He urged the Federal Government to institutionalize the National Community Food Bank as a permanent part of Nigeria’s food security and social protection system.

Oladele emphasized that the program provides immediate relief to households and complements the social intervention efforts of President Bola Tinubu's administration. He called for the establishment of a legal and administrative framework to ensure the program's sustainability and effectiveness across the country.
