APC Confirms Solomon Adeola as Ogun Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially reaffirmed Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as its governorship candidate for Ogun State in the 2027 election. This decision comes amid a court challenge regarding the party's primary.

The APC's national headquarters issued a disclaimer, labeling Abayomi Hunye as an impostor and confirming his suspension from the party since April 7, 2026, due to actions deemed harmful to the party's image. The suspension was ratified by the local ward executives and the Ogun State Working Committee.

The APC stated that Adeola was the legitimate candidate, having won the primary election with 304,055 votes, and Kudirat Balogun will serve as his running mate. The party has uploaded their details to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which has acknowledged them as the recognized candidates.

The APC warned against any dealings with Hunye, stating it would not be liable for any consequences arising from such interactions.
